As humans are facing many critical challenges now and in future, the integration of various topics in biological science and technology in agriculture is needed for sustainable development to support of human life. As being a resource of knowledge, Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia (AATSEA) realizes its responsibility to serve the community by providing education, research and development in biological science and technology, particularly in the multi-disciplinary aspects.

International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (ICIST) is conducted in order to initiate an international network among academic members, researchers, scientists and interested peoples in science and technology. The conference aims to serve as a venue for knowledge exchange and discussion among those seeking for new vision and insight in all topics related. For the technical point of view, the conference will explore various topics as follows:- Agriculture related to biological sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, engineering, plant sciences (agronomy, horticulture, postharvest, animal science, aquaculture, biological control, entomology, food sciences, plant pathology, soil science, economics, extension, rural development, sustainable agriculture and environmental science.

This year, the 7th ICIST is held in November 26-29, 2018 at The Patra Bali Resort and Villas, Bali, Indonesia. The theme of the Conference is “Water conservation, Biological Diversity, Food Safety and Agriculture”.

For 7th ICIST, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, is proudly participated as one of local organizer and Rector University of Bengkulu also acted as one of vice chairman for this year conference. The 7th ICIST 2018 conference activities include 12 plenary speakers, 159 oral presentations, and 60 poster presentations with 300 participants in total, from 21 different countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, India, China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Botswana, Egypt, Finland, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Nigeria, Russia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Philippines).

The 7th ICIST conference will be ended by AATSEA Outstanding Achievment Awards 2018. Last year, Prof. Dr. Zainal Muktamar , from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu received this international award from AATSEA. He was awarded Outstanding Leader Award in Education and Research in 2017 at the 6th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (ICIST) in Philippines.
